Sophie Lindqvist

CFA, Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income

Investment Team

Sophie Lindqvist manages the Short-Dated Sterling Credit Strategy, which she joined Wealth to build in 2016, and the bond holdings in the Global Multi-Asset Income Strategy. She has spent 18 years looking at companies the way a lender does: what they owe, when it falls due and what happens if things go wrong. She and her team of three analysts follow around 200 sterling issuers. She is a CFA charterholder.

Sophie was born in Gothenburg and studied at the Stockholm School of Economics before taking an MSc in Finance at the London School of Economics. She joined the London credit research team of a Scandinavian bank in the summer of 2008, weeks before the financial crisis reached its worst. She spent her first year learning what happens to bonds when nobody wants to buy them.

From 2011 she managed short-dated sterling credit for the in-house investment team of a UK annuity insurer, where every portfolio had to meet a schedule of pension payments. That discipline, matching what you own to what you owe, shapes how she runs money today.

She swims in the Hampstead ponds all year round and sings alto in a chamber choir in Islington.
